The Heart Behind the Pages
Melanie Lewis

Meet Melanie Lewis. She is a mom, a wife, a grandma, and a storyteller with a heart as big as the southern sky she now calls home. With two daughters of her own and three stepdaughters she proudly claims as hers, Melanie has spent years surrounded by the beautiful chaos of a full house. And with six grandkids running around, she knows exactly what makes little ones giggle, wonder, and drift off to sleep with a smile.

Growing up, Melanie was the kind of kid who traded screen time for fresh air. She spent her days camping under the stars and roaming her uncle’s farm, where animals were her playmates and adventure was always just around the corner. Those early years left her with a deep love for nature, family, and the simple joy of a good story.

Then life threw her a curveball. A serious car accident a few years ago left Melanie unable to do many of the things she once loved. But instead of slowing down, she decided to take a different path. She started turning her memories, her humor, and her heart into bedtime stories. She wanted to share the warmth of her own childhood with children everywhere.

Now settled in the southern United States with her best friend and husband by her side, Melanie is doing exactly what she was meant to do. She writes stories filled with talking chickens, clever fishermen, and cozy tree friends. Her words are gentle, her characters are full of personality, and every page feels like a hug.

Melanie hopes her books bring happy thoughts to your little ones as they close their eyes at night. Because in her world, every child deserves sweet dreams and a story that makes them feel loved.

Book 01

The Magic Fisherman

There is a boy who can catch more fish than anyone else on the riverbank. And guess what? He doesn’t use a fancy rod, shiny lures, or expensive gadgets. Nope. He uses an old cane pole and a box of his grandma’s homemade cookie dough bait balls. While the grown-up fishermen stand there with all their high-dollar gear, this boy just keeps pulling in fish after fish. They can’t figure out his secret, and it’s driving them absolutely crazy…

Book 02

The Chicken Whisper

Well, hello there! My name is Stella, and I am a tiny yellow chick with the skinniest legs you have ever seen. I just busted out of my shell, and let me tell you, the world outside is full of surprises. There is a warm glowing light that feels like a hug, crunchy wood chips to scratch around in, and a sweet red-haired girl named Josie who gives the very best kisses. Life in the chicken coop is pretty fantastic, if I do say so myself…
